Fans for Glass Tempering
Fans for tempering are used in the glass and steel production process. High-temperature sheets of glass or metal are exposed to high-velocity ambient air in order to achieve a specific set of surface properties. The air is usually filtered and directed onto the hot surface as part of a continuous operation. Several stages of air jets are directed at the quenched surface until the desired surface temperature is achieved. Because air is a poor heat transfer medium, these air-quench tempering blowers can require a lot of air and horsepower. The highest efficiency NYB metal or glass tempering blowers are used for this application.
