NYB forced draft fans fluidize and cool gravity conveying units. Dry material bulk density determines the amount and pressure of fluidizing air required. The NYB fans are supplied with inlet filters to avoid contamination of the product stream. Because the pressures required to fluidize the granular materials are usually more than one PSIG, the fans may require inlet silencers. The most common fan design is usually a direct drive arrangement with the motor being coupled directly to the fan wheel. Volume control can be affected by fan damper control. Some designers specify motor frequency control to create energy savings.
