Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

CFD testing is utilized by nyb to better visualize the natural air-flow within our fans. These tests give our customers and engineering team computerized data that visualizes how air travels within nyb fans under specific capacities. By analyzing this data, our engineering team has the ability to craft and design our components to provide the smoothest, most efficient air-flow possible under the desired specifications. This process supports the design of pre-engineered products and custom, heavy-industrial units to provide customers with the best solution possible.

Computational Fluid Dynamics Specifics

When & Why

  • Use CFD during early design phases to visualize airflow paths, pressure changes, and turbulence within custom or high-performance fan systems. It’s also useful when replacing or retrofitting fans into systems with unknown airflow patterns.

Reports & Documentation

  • Outputs include simulation renderings, velocity/pressure graphs, and airflow animations. These visual models inform blade design, housing shape, and efficiency tuning.

Common Applications

  • Oven Recirculation
  • Containment
  • Spray Booth Exhaust
