The New York Blower Company (NYB) and KDS Windsor - Lumber Drying Technologies (KDS) are expanding manufacturing operations in Philadelphia, MS. This joint venture is one of many investments in growth the past few years.
Near term, this new manufacturing facility will serve the new build and aftermarket sectors for customers seeking service and replacement parts on their existing kilns, ventilation systems and fans.
NYB has other product manufacturing facilities in La Porte, IN; New Castle, PA; Effingham, IL; and Leitchfield, KY, while KDS has a plant in Etowah, NC.
With the new facility in Mississippi, both companies will be able to increase manufacturing capability, diversify their labor force, and gain greater accessibility into Texas and the Southeast. This allows for quicker service, decreased lead times and less costly freight to industrial, OEM and aftermarket customers.
The building in Philadelphia, MS has 150,000 square feet of indoor space, and 100,000 paved square feet of outdoor storage. The outdoor storage space will serve KDS especially well as they assemble kiln components prior to shipment. The building includes significant overhead lifting capacity, furnished office space, and a recently upgraded power supply. Its layout meets the needs for both KDS and NYB with the opportunity for future expansion by both companies. Once up and running, the facility will provide around 60 jobs for the surrounding areas.
