The VSOCX6.OCX file is a required component of nyb software programs. This file normally resides in the Windows System folder on your computer after nyb software has been installed. The name of the Windows System folder varies based on your version of Windows (see below)
The current version of all nyb software programs require a VSOCX6.OCX file with a date of 21 May 2002 or later. If your computer has an older vxocx6 file, your nyb software many not perform properly. A symptom of having the incorrect vsocx6 file is that the TABS shown in the main Fan-to-Size window will display labels of "Tab 1", "Tab 2", and "Tab 3" instead of the correct labels "Operating Conditions", "Density Calculator", and "Selections". When such conditions are observed, you should download the vsocx6 update from this website and follow these instructions to install it.

vsocx6.ocx Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the update file and save it to a location on your computer (such as the Desktop).
  2. Once the download is complete, make sure that all nyb software on your computer is closed.
  3. Run the downloaded file. (Named "UpdateVsocx6_winsys.exe". Icon appears as red diamond.)
  4. This self-extracting zip file will extract the 2002 version of vsocx6.ocx to your Windows System folder. By default the "unzip to folder" is set as the Windows System folder for Windows XP. If you have a different version of Windows, please use the information below to change the unzip to folder.
  5. Unzipping the update should result in a prompt to replace an OLDER vsocx6 file with the newest one (21 May 2002). If you are not prompted to replace an existing vsocx6 file, then you may be extracting the file to the wrong folder.
  6. Once the file has been extracted to replace the old file, the self-extractor will run a system command to register the vsocx6.ocx file with the Windows Operating System. You can Close the self-extracting file once that is done.
  7. Your nyb software should now display correctly labeled tabs.
  8. You can delete the file you downloaded from nyb. After the files it contains have been extracted, it is no longer needed.
