The nyb software programs use Microsoft Access databases to store information. To enable this, some MS database technology software components are installed by the nyb software program installers. The installers are designed only to install required files that are missing from your computer or to update such database files if the versions on your computer are older than the required ones. Normally, this is accomplished without adverse effects on existing programs.

However, due to our desire to minimize any potential effects on your existing programs, the nyb software installation programs omit some files that we expect to be found as a standard on Windows. Unfortunately, not all versions of Windows include the appropriate files. In such cases, you may need to obtain updates from this web page to enable nyb software to work properly.
The nyb Software Support web page contains the download links for various MS software technology installation programs. The instructions below are general instructions on using those downloads. You should not download or install any of the files unless instructed to do so by an nyb software support technician.  

Update File Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the update file and save it to a location on your computer (such as the Desktop).
  2. Once the download is complete, make sure that all nyb software on your computer is closed.
  3. Run the downloaded file.
  4. Most of the files are Microsoft installation program files. Please follow the prompts of the installation program.
  5. Once the downloaded installation program has completed running, your nyb software should function correctly.
  6. You can delete the file you downloaded from nyb. After the files it contains have been extracted, it is no longer needed.
  7. If you encounter any problems with this procedure, please email nyb at "softwaresupport @ nyb.com" (omit the spaces in the address).

mdac_typ.exe

 This is version 2.7 of MDAC.
Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 (name depends on Windows version) SP 8 includes a number of MS security updates for Access MDB files that use the version 4.0 DAO technology.
jet35sp3.exe SP3 includes the latest updates to the version 3.5 DAO technology.
DAO350SharedFiles.exe These files are DAO DLL files required by Jet 3.5 and Jet 4.0.
