The Department of Energy (DOE) released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) regarding the energy conservation standard for commercial and industrial fans and blowers (CIFB). This is the second of a two part process for this federal fan energy regulation. We are currently in a public comment period, but heading toward a final and public version of this energy conservation standard. Upon our initial review, it appears that customers of CIFB may be significantly affected by the minimum fan energy index (FEI) values within this new standard.
